I'd imagine (don't quote me) AC will consist of events and championships where you will qualify for a position on a standing start grid and then race against fast AI. Gran Turismo 6 has a pretty varied career but all the races are rolling starts from last place. Assetto Corsa cars fall into that premium quality catagory and are every bit as good, only better due to the fact that they are running at a higher resolution with higher quality textures during gameplay. Graphics : Gran Turismo have done amazing things on the PS3 for the hardware, and from an artistic point of view (skydomes, night stars especially) Gran Turismo 6 is both accurate and amazing. However you look at it the Assetto Corsa sounds are both more enjoyable and more realistic than Gran Turismo. Assetto Corsa sounds are not amazing but they are good, some better than others. Sounds : We all know Gran Turismo sounds are not so great, in GT6 the only car that sounds genuinely good is the Red Bull X2010/2011 fantasy car. People compare Forza/GT on the consoles and they are pretty close to each other but neither compare to a few of the PC sims in physics. Gran Turismo 6, the latest entry in the swankiest racing simulator series has stuck dutifully to.
